Dodge Challenger

Pros: Powerful engine, athletic handling, comfortable cabin
Cons: Too big, too heavy, not a very communicative steering

If you're old enough to remember the 70's, you can surely recall the movie Vanishing Point: a car delivery man named Kowalski rises up against the establishment as he drives from Colorado to San Francisco with half the police force of two states on his trail. And the car he drives is a 1970 Dodge Challenger.

The current Dodge Challenger was introduced in 2008 as the SRT8 only. Two years later and the SRT8 is the flagship of the Challenger fleet. With a 6 liter V8 engine that produces 425 hp and a 0 to 60 of 5.5 seconds, it's one of the most inspiring and muscular performance cars made in America. Dodge official website has the price of a 2010 SRT8 Coupe at $41,230. It's not the most affordable muscle in town, nor the most refined, you can buy a BMW 335i (priced at $40,600) with that money or a luxury Korean made such as Hyundai Genesis (priced at $39,500). But none of those cars will give you the sheer satisfaction of driving a pure muscle car and none of them can match the thundering acceleration of the Challenger.

So if you have 40 grand and want to buy a car, be bold and be brute, say no to German's perfect machinery, say no to far east's self driving bedroom and challenge the world in your SRT8 tire-smokin', asphalt-blazin' Dodge Challenger.

  1. Cool website. Mine is a true ride. You're right about the pros and cons. I love mine but I have it on eBay to see what I can get because of a few different "life" things. If you want to re-sell don't look to get anymore than 32.5k, unfortunately.
